Our team of energy professionals use take renewable organic materials, such as wood, agricultural crops or wastes, and municipal wastes to produce energy. Biomass can be burned directly or processed into biofuels such as ethanol and methane.
AES developed three biomass projects with three paper mills in Alabama and Georgia, including one 27 MW plant and two 50 MW plants. We used the waste wood at the plants to produce high-pressure steam and electricity for use in the facility. These projects included the conceptual design based on the electric and high-pressure steam requirements at the sites. Our services included preliminary concepts, financial analysis, raw material identification and acquisition, design, permitting, financing, construction and operation of the projects.
